About Herd of Hope
“The heart of man plans his way, but the Lord establishes his steps.”
Proverbs 16:9 (ESV)
This verse speaks to me when I reflect on how God brought Herd of Hope to be. My husband and I were recently married, and had just moved to what we thought was going to be our home for the next few years. Well, God had other plans! 5 months after our initial move, God relocated us to the ranch, and 3 months after that Herd of Hope came to be.
God's leading is steady even when our path feels uncertain, and His purposes unfold in ways we could never script on our own. There is no better place to be than in God's will for our life.
As we serve our ranch visitors and herd of horses, we trust that every moment, every connection, and every act of care is part of the path He is faithfully laying before us. Our prayer is that everything we do reflects the heart of Christ and brings honor to the One who gave everything for us. “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life.” John 3:16

At Herd of Hope, the partnership between people, horses, and ranch life creates space for connection, character growth, and meaningful life skill application. Through hands‑on activities, caring mentorship, and a safe, encouraging atmosphere, we help visitors build confidence and discover their God-given strengths. We deeply care for those who are hurting, disadvantaged, and those who may just be looking for a place to "belong". Our team is motivated by God’s love, and while our faith shapes the way we serve, every person is welcomed and valued here - no matter their background or beliefs.
Our team places their trust in Jesus Christ, the one and only Son of God - our Savior and the King. We are led through Scripture (The Bible), the inspired and authoritative Word of God, fully complete and true, and the foundation for all we do. Our intention is that our faith becomes more than what we talk about — that it becomes visible in the way we act, serve, and love those God leads through our gates.
We consider it a blessing to serve various ages, from every background, with the same grace and compassion that Christ has generously shown to us. This commitment shapes the heart of our programs, guides our training, and directs the way we interact with each individual - striving to reflect Christ’s love through genuine example and humble service.
"For we are God's handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.” Ephesians 2:10
